DongJoo Kim, also known as DJ, is an associate attorney with The Love Law Group LLC. He practices primarily in the firm’s Estate Planning area. DJ was born and raised as the son of a pastor whose mission was helping homeless elders. His mom is a social worker who currently owns a faith-based nursing home in South Korea. DJ has a heart for seniors in need due to being raised so immersed in the elderly community and witnessing his parents’ ministry. He recently discovered his compassion for veterans. He believes he owes American Korean War veterans a great debt of gratitude. As a descendant of a Korean family, DJ feels that it is his duty to serve veterans in return for their sacrifice.

DJ received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California at Berkeley and his law degree from the University of Kansas School of Law, where he received certificates in Business Law and International Trade Law. He was awarded CALI Excellence for the Future Award. DJ was admitted to the Missouri Bar in 2018 and the Kansas Bar in 2020. During law school, he interned at Kansas Legal Services, where he was introduced to elder law and estate planning. Prior to attending law school, he served in the US-South Korea Alliance Special Force, and then worked as a diplomat for South Korea in Dallas, Texas. DJ’s military and government experience helped him learn how to serve his clients with integrity and loyalty.

He is a member of the Missouri Bar Association, Kansas Bar Association, Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association, the Missouri Bar Young Lawyer’s Section, and Asian American Bar Association of Kansas City. He also has been happily married for four years, and he and his wife actively serve together in their church.
